Lumenocity is a free event where the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops play while animations and designs light up Music Hall. This is the event's second year and it's popularity has exploded. Last year was more popular than expected so they had to put tickets on Ticketmaster for this year and the event sold out in less than 30 minutes.
I was lucky enough to get 4 tickets. My sister and her husband showed up around 5 (gates opened at 4) and the place was so crowded that we settled for an obstructed view. I'd much rather have an obstructed view than to sit on some strangers lap. My sister also packed an amazing meal and we people watched and chatted while we waited for the show to start.
The show was
amazing! I think it was even better than last year. The tribute to
Charlie Harper was my favorite part. We don't get out much, so this was a perfect event for our family. Cora loved listening to the classical music, watching the lights, and cuddling on her aunt's lap.
Check out these gifs that are still really cool despite the obstructed view:

post from last year and read more about the event on the
official website.
Awesome. One day I wanna come home for this
ReplyDeleteIt would be worth it! I've heard of lots of people that tried to get tickets and were unable, so hopefully they'll figure out a better system or have more shows.
