Mellow Weekend

This was pretty much the best weekend I've had in a while.  There was nothing too eventful about the weekend, but I am finally feeling back to normal from the C section and we're really getting into the swing of things with the baby.  It was nice having a weekend with no plans and relaxing around the house.
Friday, we hit up LensCrafters and picked out some new glasses for me.  They're pretty similar to the ones I had before, but bigger and black.  I'm getting blinder since I last got glasses (4 years) so I've been enjoying a nice headache adjusting to the new prescription.   We spent the rest of the evening relaxing at home.
I woke up Saturday with lots of motivation.  I completed a bunch of cleaning and tidying up around the apartment.  I ran a couple errands sans Ben and baby and that was pretty relaxing.  In the afternoon, I had a craft/Harry Potter marathon while Cora played on her mat.
Sunday, my little family enjoyed a walk at our favorite park (I'm really sucking at this self-inflicted 40 mile challenge).  I spent the rest of the day doing laundry, crafty stuff, reading, and playing with the baby.  I'm so thankful for such a relaxing weekend and hoping that this week is just as relaxing/productive.

Life with Cora :: 2 Months

I'm way late on sharing this, but whatever.  During the Cora's 2nd month, I had to return to work.  I have missed Cora during the work day, but have been spending a lot of time with her in the evenings and weekends.  Cora has been spending more time awake and is very attentive.  During the end of the month, she would really sit and listen/watch me read to her.  She loves to be sung to and has started making cooing noises.

Hanging Pictures

I printed out a bunch of black and white pictures to add them to the giant frame I shared here.  I originally wanted to put them in a grid pattern.
I didn't really like the look of the grid with the pattern, so I taped them together in a line and put them in the frame at different intervals.
Unfortunately, I do not like the gold painting with the black and white pictures.  I will be painting over this whenever I get around to it, but it is good enough for now (how I'm feeling about a lot of things in the apt).  I'm undecided about whether I will paint a plain color over the background, or just do the pattern in a different color.
I also printed out some 8x10" pictures of Cora and Clove to hang in the nursery area.  The picture of Clove was taken a couple of days before Cora was born.  We were enjoying our last days of puppy cuddles in the bed.  Cora's picture is one that I took for some birth announcements.  I will share some more of those pictures soon.
After hanging the pictures, I decided to hang up Jazz's castle painting.  Ben and I have decided this is the best little corner of our apartment.  I'm guessing because it is the only part that feels complete.
I have lived in six different apartments/houses in the last six years and I never really got into the habit of hanging stuff up onto the walls until this year.  It is amazing how much more this apartment feels like home by just hanging up a couple of pieces.

Weekend

Last weekend was another eventful weekend.  Saturday, I woke up early and went on a walk with Clove and Cora at Otto Armleder Park (they have a great dog park I mention here).  Isn't it beautiful?!
After the walk, I picked up my sister and we went to The Oakley Fancy Flea.  We really liked some of the vendors and I will definitely be saving up for the next one on the 27th.  I was in love with a giraffe piece by A Fluttered Collection (it's not on their Etsy site to link up) and I will definitely be contacting them when the funds come in.  It rained when we were towards the end so we were stuck in one of the tents for a little bit since I had the baby.  Thankfully, we were stuck in the tent of a very friendly vendor with some interesting jewelry and head pieces.
Sunday, I took Cora to Honey and Pop's for brunch and then to the pool for the first time.  I didn't have a hat for her so I borrowed one of my brother's handkerchiefs and tied it on her head.  Isn't she the cutest?  She loved the water so I am excited to have some more pool visits in the future.

... and now it is Monday and I'm back at work :/.  There are a lot of changes this week at work since we're entering a new fiscal year so that makes it less exciting to work.  However, I did get a chance to work on a project.  Here is a sneak peek:

Here's hoping this is a smooth and somewhat relaxing week with the holiday.
