Cora's 3rd Birthday

We had an awesome time celebrating Cora's 3rd birthday this weekend.  Saturday, Ben was working out of town so Cora and I spent the entire day together.  We had her last gymnastics class, lunch with my aunt and uncle, shopping at Sam's club for birthday stuff, followed by a lazy afternoon/evening at home.
On Cora's birthday, we woke up fairly early so we watched Minions (yay for Netflix) and had breakfast.  The two of us took a trip to Target to pick up some last minute things for her party and kill some time.  I let Cora pick out some treats.  She picked out a large bag of peanut M&Ms to share and a pair of sunglasses from the dollar section.  There were some really cute pineapple ones that I asked her if she also wanted to buy them.  She said "two pairs of sunglasses?!" and I told her it was her birthday so yes.  You would have thought I gave her a million bucks with the smile on her face.  I offered to buy her a toy also, but she said she already had a toy (she brought one of her dolls with her to the store).
The party was a lot of fun.  Cora loved running around with her cousins, playing with the balloons, and hiking in the woods.  Cora was extremely adorable when she opened her presents and I had a proud mama moment.  When she picked up a present, she would thank the gifter before she even opened it, then she would ask her second cousin if he wanted to help.  After she opened each gift, she gave a hug and thanked the gifter.  Once all of the presents were opened, she cleaned up the trash and took turns playing her new bowling game.  All of this adorableness was completely unprompted.
We spent the rest of the day playing with her toys and hanging out.  I asked her what the best part of the day was, she said her presents.  Then I asked her what her favorite present was and she said "all of them!"
Cora Jean,
I'm not sure how I got so lucky to be your mom, but I cherish that gift.  You have brought so much light and laughter into our family.  Thank you for being such an awesome daughter and I look forward to all of the adventures that the next year brings us.  I love you!
